Sony flagship in the DSLR range the A900 features a full frame 24.6 megapixels CMOS for stunning images. Exmor performs on-chip analogue/digital (A/D) signal conversion and two-stage noise reduction. This guarantees ultra-low noise image files that take advantage of the superb resolving power of high-precision α lenses.
The new advanced dual BIONZ processors handle massive amounts of image data at extremely high speed. Powerful noise reduction algorithms are applied prior to RAW data conversion and then again during image processing, yielding flawless detail packed images with an absolute minimum of noise. The dual BIONZ processors also underpin the camera razor-sharp shooting responses allowing sustained 5fps continuous shooting at full 24.6 megapixel resolution.

Canon PowerShot range has a new flagship in the form of the much anticipated G10 successor to the G9. Key changes include a new 14.7 megapixel CCD sensor and more usefully a new 28-140mm wide zoom and increased screen resolution - plus a DIGIC IV processor. A new top panel layout adds a dedicated AE compensation dial and there is an improved grip but overall externally the changes are subtle.
